Using synchronized alarms industries and hospitals can better monitor events such as patients leaving their room, problems with lifesaving equipment, if instruments and equipment are in a proper maintenance status of repair and when this was made (according to the JCAHO Joint Commission on the Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations specifics). Each problem can be immediately communicated to the staff as well as sent to the Hospital or Company Software Management for appropriate action (alarms, closing / opening doors, etc..). There are also tags equipped with buttons, which the staff or patients can use to send specific alarms or help requests.

In case of fire it is possible to send specific messages to staff and information in real time about who is where.

The ‘Cisco Unified Wireless Infrastructure’ manages voice, video and data into a single network. Now the location services can be managed on the same infrastructure, dramatically reducing costs and complexity of the localization solutions and status, thus improving control actions, minimizing errors and reducing risks for everyone.

 

The projected software works in a Cisco infrastructure and allows the hospital or factory staff to work with precision providing all necessary information. It also has a greater reporting potential and the ability to integrate with the existing information system. All this can also be accessed from any device supporting a standard web browser as a tablet PC or PDA. The events that are triggered by the detection system can automatically trigger alarms.

 

For example, when the warehouse is missing something or it reaches a minimum level of supplying, an alarm goes directly to the staff that receives the communication via email / sms.

A research can then be started for the identification, within the hospital and / or the industrial building, of the equipment / machinery that is needed and that therefore can be sent to those who requested it and / or restore the level of minimum stocks to be found in the warehouse / office.

Localization System is based on an association system, for example between the patient and equipment. It is also possible to connect a patient to a staff member, in order to check  who is taking care of that specific patient, the care treatments and when a specific machine is being used and for how long.

 

Specific warning signals can be sent by pressing the tag button. For example, pressing the button attached to a device means that an asset needs to be overhauled. We can then identify the location of an asset from any device running a web browser.

This will improve the efficiency, minimize errors and save time.

The staff may also have access to reports to verify whether property has been used properly.

This depends on:

• the area of use;

• the kind of property;

• any possible card maintenance;

 

Having a tracking system also helps to identify, for example, a patient leaving the room, or a worker entering a danger zone, so that staff is immediately alerted. Patients and / or staff at risk may therefore be monitored on request. Alarms can also be sent to mobile phones to get an immediate response in case of missing or stolen equipment, or if patients / visitors leave their assigned areas.

In case of missing or stolen equipment the tracking system may also identify patients who are also outside the hospital.

● A Wi-Fi Wireless Network

● A server and analysis software

 

Analysis software requires:

·          A front-end application server;

·          A database server centralizing data coming from the various UU.OO network;

·          A storage for storing data and logs;

·           A high reliable and capable Internet connection for updates and remote access functions;

·          A firewall for the VPN connections, for the IPS (Intrusion Prevention System) and IDS (Intrusion Detection System) systems;

·          An LDAP Server for the log-in management (CMS Card Management System).
